Visiting: ALØR
Take a look behind the doors of the tenants on Frederiksø. Discover the creative environment where 21 cultural partners welcome citizens and tourists with exciting workshops, courses and events in the realm of art and craftsmanship.
Here, we are visiting the silkscreen workshop ALØR.
ALØR is a working silkscreen workshop and showroom on Frederiksø, where you can experience the transformation of silk from stark white to colourful artwork. The workshop is run by Anne Louise Østrup Rasmussen, who with great care and skill hand-prints every single silk product. Visitors can follow the process where the silk is coloured and printed with a frame and squeegee before being transformed into soft shawls, scarves and accessories such as hairbands and lavender-scented eyepillows.

Anne Louise is a trained textile printer based in Svendborg, and she works with carefully selected motifs that create small, magical stories with playful colours and patterns. Her products combine silky comfort with a touch of humour and the scent of South Fyn honeysuckle.

ALØR often opens the workshop for the public and hosts workshops where you can try your hand at screen printing and experience the art on your own. You are always welcome to visit the workshop where Anne Louise shares her passion and gives insight into the traditional craft.
