Culinary experiences
When it comes to culinary experiences, I have to highlight Bar 105. The atmosphere is relaxed and very chilled, which perfectly matches the food, which is inspired by the Spanish tapas tradition and served to share at the table. There's something truly magical about enjoying food and cocktails at Bar 105 on a hot summer day, where you can sit outside and then move inside when it gets a little chilly, where you can enjoy the DJ that often play here and a relaxed atmosphere.

Culture
A visit to Forsorgsmuseet, the Danish Welfare Museum/Poor House, is a must. It tells an important part of Danish history and it's an experience I always want to share with visitors. And of course, you shouldn't miss out on experiencing Svendborg from the water. There's something unique about seeing the city from the seaside that just must be experienced.

Nature
The surrounding nature is extremely beautiful. And if you want to experience some urban nature without spending a lot of time on transport, I recommend the breathtaking walk from Svendborg Harbour through Christiansmindestien and over the Thurø Dam. Not only is it a route that takes you through incredibly beautiful scenery, but it also gives you a good sense of Svendborg and the surrounding water. The route is good both for walking and cycling.

Svendborg also has an abundance of small, hidden natural gems. Maybe on paper they don't sound like much, but they are an amazing experience. Visit Skansen and Bregninge Church Tower to experience places that each offer amazing views. From Skansen you get a view of Svendborg city and the Svendborg Sound Bridge, and from Bregninge Church Tower you get a magnificent view of Tåsinge and the surrounding islands in the South Funen Archipelago.
Seeing Svendborg from the water is a unique and unforgettable experience.
The uniqueness of Svendborg
Svendborg is much more than just a harbour town. Our city is pulsating with life and activities thanks to a rich business community and many different associations and organisations. Our local community is characterised by community and initiative, and this was especially evident during the corona pandemic when we defied the challenges, launched a new festival (5700 Summer), and organised concerts whilst keeping a distance. It's proof that nothing is impossible when we stand together and show what our great city is capable of.
When I have guests visiting
Here the answer is simple: a boat trip. Seeing Svendborg from the water is a unique and unforgettable experience. It's something I love to share with everyone who visits our beautiful city. It can be to the surrounding towns, a short sail trip around the harbour or an evening trip with the sight of the sun slowly setting over the South Funen Archipelago.
